Alaska Kayak Tour Itinerary

• • Day 1 - During the morning the guides will familiarize the group with the upcoming agenda of the kayak tour and give introductory sea kayak instruction. We load onto a motorboat for the quick and scenic ride out to Shoup Bay Marine State Park. Once we're free of the water taxi and in our kayaks, we'll spend the day exploring the upper bay of the park, searching for sea otters, seals, and viewing a spectacular rookery of Black-Legged Kittiwakes. At the head of the fjord and accessible by kayak is the face of the Shoup Glacier. Here there is also the option to hike up along side the glacier and gain stellar views from above. The campsite is one of the best in the sound! Set your tent with a prime view of the glacier and waterfalls cascading down all around. The guides always prepare a tasty dinner! ( Lunch) (Dinner)

• Day 2 - After a casual morning of exploration the group will head back toward Valdez. Paddling back offers a wonderful experience of covering a steep, lush coastline by kayak. The typical afternoon breeze will push us back to port. We stop for lunch at Gold Creek State Park and enjoy a walk to view the waterfalls. We return to Valdez by early afternoon. (Breakfast) (Lunch)
