MV Explorer: 16 Passenger
"Explorer" is a 30 foot long and 10 foot wide motor vessel that has been specially designed and built to fit our specific needs. This high speed, highly efficient, sturdy and very reliable vessel is well suited for the waters of Prince William Sound. We can nose up onto beaches, deploy the bow ladder and use the boat as a landing craft. Also, with elevated seating and 360 degrees of windows lining the cabin, the vision is exceptional. Built by "ACB" (Aluminum Chambered Boats), the hull is considered unsinkable due to it's multiple hull compartments and aluminum construction.
Along with twin Suzuki 250 outboard motors, Explorer is equipped with a radar, GPS, marine radio, depth sounder, epirb, self-deploying life-raft and all of the other USCG required safety and navigational equipment. Explorer is United States Coast Guard inspected for 14 passengers and cruises at around 24 knots. There is a very basic head (toilet) on board.
Mayflower Star: 25 Passenger
"Mayflower Star" is 36 foot long by 12 foot wide Peregrine Marine aluminum landing craft. It was originally commissioned by Laidlaw as a school bus for the remote communities around Ketchikan. This vessel is comfortable and roomy. The front of the vessel has a drop down gate for easy loading and unloading from the beach.
It is powered by twin Cummins Diesel 350hp engines and Kodiak 403 jet drives, affording a general cruising speed of about 24 knots. Mayflower Star is US Coast Guard inspected for 23 passengers and carries all of the required safety and navigational equipment and more! Yes, there is a very basic head (toilet) on board.
