Pangaea Adventures organizes backpacking and base camp adventures in both Wrangell St. Elias National Park and the Chugach Mountains surrounding Prince William Sound. Both areas offer some of the most spectacular backpacking regions in the US.
Point to Point Backpacking - trips where you will carry a full backpackpack and enjoy a new camp each night.
Base Camp Trips - Great if you want to experience the and great hikes, but don't want to carry a heavy backpack.
Wrangell St. Elias National Park
The largest unit of the National Park System, Wrangell St. Elias includes the continent's largest assemblage of glaciers, and greatest collection of peaks above 16,000 feet.
The Chugach Mountains
The Chugach Mountains surround Prince William Sound. The range is about 300 miles long with it's base at sea level and it's highest point being Mount Marcus Baker, at 13,176 feet. The Chugach mountains receive more snow than any other range in the world with an annual average of over 600 inches.
