Our Water Taxi Vessels
Pangaea Adventures operates it's own motor vessels for water taxi transportation in Prince William Sound. Our vessels are built tough and can get you right up to the beach!
"Explorer" is a 30 feet long and 10 foot wide motor vessel that has been specially designed and built for our specific needs. The high speed, highly efficient and very reliable vessel is well suited for the waters of Prince William Sound. Built by "ACB" Aluminum Chambered Boats, the hull is considered unsinkable due to it's surrounding chambers and aluminum construction. Explorer is equipped with Radar, GPS, Marine Radio, Self Deploying Safety Rafts and all of the other USCG required equipment. Explorer is United States Coast Guard inspected for about 14 passengers and cruises at around 28 knots.
"Mayflower Star" is 38 feet long by 12 feet wide. It was originally built by Laidlaw as a school bus for the remote communities around Ketchikan. This vessel is comfortable and roomy. The front of the vessel has a drop down gate for easy loading and unloading from the beach. It is powered by twin Cummins Diesel engines and water jets. Mayflower Star is US Coast Guard inspected for 25 passengers and carries all of the required gear and more! Yes, there is a toilet on board.
