2 Day Shoup Glacier Kayak Camp

A one night camping experience at Shoup Glacier. Take a motor boat, with the kayaks on board, into Prince William Sound. You will paddle with the guide along the spectacular waterfall covered coastline to your camp at Shoup Glacier. Paddle to the face of the glacier and watch it calve before a relaxing evening of fine foods and a camp fire. The second days paddle is from Shoup Glacier back to Valdez. View Itinerary

Motor by water taxi a bit further on day one to Sawmill Bay State Park for an amazing paddle along the mountain lined coast. Spend 2 nights at our camp with a glacier view. Go to Shoup Bay for a full day of exploration at Shoup Glacier. Great kayaking and hiking. Paddle back to Valdez on day 3.

4 Day Columbia Glacier Family Camp

Probably the best base camp type kayak tour in Alaska! Water taxi out to Heather bay at Columbia Glacier to set camp. Paddle 2 days in the protected waters of Heather Bay and in the icebergs of Columbia Glacier. We enjoy one night of camping here. Then transfer by Motorboat to Glacier Island for 2 more nights of camping and enjoying more paddling and hiking.
NOTE: This tour meets in Valdez and is considered the best trip for families with younger kids and is the easiest of our paddles. Dates are set up on a custom basis only.

6 Day Shoup to Glacier Island Kayak Camp Valdez

A great place to start for you first paddle in Prince William Sound. Paddle Shoup Glacier, Sawmill Bay, Heather Bay, Columbia Glacier, and Glacier Island. Enjoy paddling amongst the icebergs, seals, sea otters, and sea lions. View bird rookeries and Bald Eagles. This journey visit some of our favorite campsites and traverses spectacular scenery. Learn basic paddling and sea kayak camping skills. Imagine pitching your tent at the base of a beautiful waterfall cascading down a lush hillside while having a glacier view. First time paddlers are always welcome and encouraged. The end of the tour is rewarded by a comfortable motorboat ride back to Valdez. View Itinerary

This is the trip for you if you are adventurous and are looking for a true wilderness experience. A water taxi brings the group out to Meares Glacier to start the journey. we travel by kayak along the secluded coastline towards the final destination of Columbia Glacier. Paddle the tranquil Cedar and Granite Bays, Unakuik inlet, and the rugged Glacier Island. This paddle is sure to offer all of the wildlife viewing you could ever ask for in a week long paddle, with sea otters, seals, bears, whales, birds and salmon.

| We suggest this trip if you have already been on the 8 day Meares to Columbia Glacier "Remote Glaciers and Bays" trip. The area is also teaming with wildlife and offers comfortable campsites. This kayak camping tour offers 8-10 miles of paddling per day, with moving camps. We have also had great success in spotting Orca and Humpback Whales. Visit Chenega Glacier and camp on remote Islands. Round trip water taxi included.
