An overview of this trip would be summed up by daily activities of sea kayaking, hiking, fishing, sightseeing, and relaxing. Enjoy the comfort of Prince William Sound Lodge with gourmet meals and "Nice Rustic" accommodations. This trip is led by one naturalist guide and hosted by the two friendly lodge owners.
This is a high end vacation that gives the best of Prince William Sound. We cut not corners and offer your group first class service with an experienced staff and well organized itinerary. This option is particularly good for a family who would like a diversity of activities and an option to participate (or not) in each. The lodge offers activities for all ages and excellent private accommodations.
Day 1 - Meet in Valdez for an introductory lesson on sea kayaking. Start the trip with an afternoon of sea kayak Shoup Glacier. End the day at the lodge for a relax evening with a great welcome dinner.

Day 2- Explore Ellamar with a day hike. If the season allows, we pick berries for upcoming meals. Ellamar is a historic sight of an old copper mine and a remote fish cannery. Now, there are a few wonderful sights to explore.

Day 3- Kayak with the Sea Lions and around the icebergs of Columbia Glacier. This is an exciting day. We kayak glacier island and get a great view of Columbia Glacier. Glacier is the best pace in Alaska to kayak with sea lions, and also offers great hiking. We will enjoy a picnic lunch.

Day 4- Anyone interested in fishing will get an early start and head out toward the gulf of Alaska for a day of Halibut fishing (August is dedicated to Silver Salmon fishing). If you do not want to fish, the kayak guide will take anyone interested in a paddle out to Bligh island for another great paddle. The lodge will also be available for a day of relaxation.

Day 5- We say goodbye to the lodge and paddle in Galena Bay for a few hors before going back to Valdez. Galena is a great place to sea spawning salmon and sea stars. We will return to Valdez by early afternoon.

The lodge also offers extra opportunities such as additional fishing, flight seeing, or a visit to Cordova and Miles Glacier.
