Located in the northeastern portion of the Prince William Sound, twenty-five miles from Valdez, PWS Lodge can only be accessed by sea or air. Experience an abundance of wildlife; you will see a wide variety of migratory birds, resident sea otters, seals, eagles and possibly sea lions, bears and whales. Learn about the anthropology of the local Aleut Indians and geologic features of the Chugach Mountain Range with their snow-capped peaks and glaciation to 13,000 feet. Prince william sound offes more than just adventure.
Spend each day exploring by kayak or hiking. Wander through the historical turn of the century mining area. Walk the ancient lush boreal rain forest with numerous varieties of wild flowers and vegetation along a network of hiking trails. We will kayak to a tide water glacier and along the ancient forests of Titilek Narrows.
Situated at water's edge, the PWS Lodge has the intimacy and comfort of a hand crafted private log home, majestic stone fireplace, oak floors and indoor bathroom facilities. Relax by the warmth of the fire and take in the panoramic view that offers you countless pleasures. After an adventure filled day enjoy a wonderfully relaxing sauna along with a feast of country gourmet-wilderness food at its finest. Your host Christopher Saal has been in the Prince William Sound for 26 years.
